EX

Mercredi, septembre 30th, 2009

“EX is an arrangement of 300 pages of drawings and notes I did in the last two years, after publishing I Wait Here For You Forever as Long as It Takes. The drawings were conceived in a new order, outtakes of my sketch- and notebooks, contraposed in this new publication.” Stefan Marx

waterfall summer issue

Mercredi, septembre 30th, 2009

Bring together works from all over the world: The United States, South Korea, Britain, Russia, Egypt, Spain and Japan, the authors include professional photographers, artists, school teachers, students and the New York Times reporter and others. They’ve got an opportunity to question and to examine themselves, showing their inner life and creative ideas through this project. Mapping out the various day-to-day lives and also the metaphysical world view on private. We met a father, an on-the-road band and a pair of lovers; we saw youth, childhood, the middle class, the boredom in the reality, and the passion erupted in the solitude. “What’s my function in life?” “Why I’m here?” “What’s the purpose for it?” “What is life?” By asking questions, days like this or like that, no one could say what is the best, and no one feel too bad. However, we can discover something, like our own aura, in our daily life. In the moment this world seems no longer wonderful, those from the cracks in the excavation of the day-to-day energy flashes. Even if there’s only one little star shinning, it can make the sky as bright as always.

datashock

Mercredi, septembre 30th, 2009

There is no constant line-up, as the group is joined by new members every now and then.
Their music is defined almost entirely by psychedelic multidimensional live-improvisations stemming from 70ies Kraut-rock influenced by contemporary electronic music and psychotic dronescapes. As a result we find complex layers of sultry muffled vibrations met by heavy waves of electronic sound experiments and strangely disfigured images. Here and there reality-distorting bits of whispers and cut-up voices are woven into the texture of these alien patterns of sound. Every step here is like nervously stumbling through the swampy ground of a jungle. Here every look is like a secret glimpse at a hidden ghost-train world.

anna’s present

Mercredi, septembre 23rd, 2009

Sometimes, you don’t have to travel across the world to find an amazing new band. Anna’s Present is the first effort from this two young french mermaids called Folle Eglise. This debut release have been recorded in august 2009 during some typical north-of-france misty summer days. Seven tracks for a long journey in the muzzy heads of Alice Dourlen and Sophie Bernadou, full of strange child pictures, gregorian recollections and wired worldmusic covers. If you hear the song of sirens, you’ll never go back on board.
Kaugummi is really proud to be the first label which turn out a record from this amazing new band. Handmade packaging made of caramel paper, thin cord and feather, plus a strange found photograph. Handnumbered edition of 100 copies.

“I think those that are staying alert, making sure to crest the wave, are already ecstatic in the ways they have found to re-order those energies for their benefit and the furthering of psychedelic and tuned-in living.”

us girls

Samedi, septembre 19th, 2009

Whistling to life with a scrap of found sound/dialogue, the song then wings into a vague, hazed-out stone-toss between 2 tired notes (a dead ringer for that famous Les Rallizes Denudes bass riff), ebbing and flowing beneath smeary streaks of white-washed vocal blur.
